Why I Stepped Away From Full-time Ministry
After over a decade in full-time pastoral ministry, I recently stepped into a new season — one that brings me closer to the dreams God has been stirring in my heart for years. In this post, I share the story behind the transition, what I’m doing now with Valley Christian Counseling & Wellness, and how I’m stepping more intentionally into writing, speaking, and resource development. We're still here in Fargo, still rooted at Northview Church, and more excited than ever for what’s ahead. If you’ve been wondering what’s next — this is the place to find the full story.

Running From My Comfort Zone
We don’t run because we love it. We run because we hate it—and we’re doing it anyway. This isn’t about finish lines or performance. It’s about choosing to do hard things—together. One uncomfortable mile at a time.

Life, Laughter, and Lessons from Viral Ducks
A fifteen-second video of two waddling ducks, featuring a spontaneous voiceover featuring some strong Midwest accents from Taylor and me, has now been viewed over 775,000 times and liked more than 50,000 times. I’ve hilariously gained hundreds of new followers — all because two disgruntled ducks waddled down my street and into my life.

Becoming an Everyday Mentor
Think about the people who have shaped your life — not just the ones with an official title, but the ones who simply showed up. Maybe it was a teacher who encouraged you at just the right time. A coach who saw potential in you before you saw it yourself. A boss who took the extra time to teach you something valuable. Or maybe it was just a neighbor, a small group leader, or a friend who was present when you needed guidance.

Fighting for Friendship In Your Thirties
Friendship gets harder as you get older — especially when you have kids. Between the chaos of parenting, demanding work schedules, and sheer exhaustion, finding time for meaningful connection can feel almost impossible. Add in the challenge of coordinating babysitters, aligning schedules, and mustering the energy to socialize, and it's easy to see why so many friendships fade in this season. But here's the truth: When it’s most difficult to prioritize friendship is when we need it the most.

The Heart of Hospitality: Opening Doors for the Gospel
Walk into any Chick-fil-A, and you'll notice something different. Sure, the food is good , but it’s the culture that stands out. Every interaction, from the warm greeting to the familiar "My pleasure," reflects intentional hospitality. It’s not just customer service — it’s a commitment to making people feel valued. The same can be said for world-class hotels, where the details matter. Clean rooms, thoughtful amenities, and friendly staff all work together to create an environment where guests feel cared for and at ease.
