Welcome to the Year-End Reflection Course
Before diving in, this short video will show you how to set yourself up for success: block off your reflection time, eliminate distractions, and create space for God to speak. These simple steps will help you slow down, stay present, and make the most of every session.

Part 1: Getting Started
-
Session 1: The Why - Why Reflection Matters
Before you move into a new year, you’ll pause to understand why reflection matters and why it’s one of the most transformative rhythms you can create. This session helps you slow down long enough to notice God’s presence, patterns in your life, and the moments worth remembering. Start here to ground your heart in purpose before you begin looking back.
-
Session 2: The How - How to Use This Course
This session walks you through how to set yourself up for meaningful reflection — from scheduling your time to preparing a distraction-free environment. You’ll gather what you need, get your heart settled, and create space to meet with God. Think of this as setting the table before the feast.

Part 2: Look Back
-
Session 3: Highlights
You’ll begin your “Look Back” journey by remembering the good — the milestones, the surprises, and the small everyday moments you don’t want to forget. This session helps you celebrate what God has done and awaken gratitude as the foundation for reflection. You’ll be surprised by how much joy rises to the surface.
-
Session 4: People of the Year
God uses people to shape our lives, and this session helps you name the relationships that made the biggest impact this year. Whether they encouraged you, challenged you, or simply walked with you, you’ll reflect on the role they played in your story. It’s a powerful reminder that spiritual growth happens in community.
-
Session 5: Challenges
Here you’ll face the hard moments with honesty and grace — the struggles, disappointments, or unexpected turns that marked your year. This session helps you process what hurt, what didn’t go as planned, and what God may have been teaching you through it all. Naming the hard things is the first step toward releasing them.

Part 3: Reflect
-
Session 6: Life Lessons
Every year leaves behind wisdom, and this session helps you name the lessons you want to carry forward. You’ll capture insights from the highs, the lows, and everything in between — turning your experience into practical and spiritual guidance. These lessons become the foundation for intentional living in the year ahead.
-
Session 7: Gratitude
Gratitude changes how you see your life, and this session invites you to name 50–100 things you’re thankful for. As you move from obvious blessings to the small, sacred details, your perspective expands and your heart softens. This simple practice unlocks joy, peace, and renewed awareness of God’s goodness.
-
Session 8: You Are Here
Before you can move forward, you need to know where you stand. This session walks you through an honest evaluation of the most important areas of your life — spiritually, emotionally, relationally, physically, and more. It gives you clarity on where you’re thriving and where God may be inviting you to grow.

Part 4: Go Forward
-
Session 9: True North
Here you’ll imagine the person you could become one year from now. Writing in “future present tense,” you’ll create a hopeful, realistic vision of your best next season — grounded in the rhythms and growth God is leading you toward. This becomes the compass for everything that follows.
-
Session 10: Rhythms & Routes
This session turns your reflection into action by helping you set meaningful goals and choose sustainable rhythms for the year ahead. You’ll identify what matters most, name the habits that support those values, and determine the routes — the people, practices, and structures — that will help get you there. This is where vision becomes a plan.
-
Session 11: Word of the Year
God often highlights a theme or word that shapes a season. This session helps you listen for that word and understand how it can guide your decisions, focus, and spiritual formation. It’s a simple yet powerful way to stay anchored throughout the year.
-
Session 12: Final Reflections
This is your moment to breathe, pray, and write a personal prayer for the year ahead. You’ll thank God for what He has done, surrender what you’re releasing, and invite Him into your next steps. This session closes your reflection journey with peace and presence.

Next Steps

Session 13: Next Steps
In this final session, you’ll identify how to carry your reflection forward — through monthly check-ins, visible reminders, shared conversations, and sustainable rhythms. You’ll be encouraged to revisit your values, goals, and Word of the Year throughout the year. This is your launch point into a more intentional, focused, grounded season.
-
Bonus Session: Year in Books
In this bonus session, you’ll revisit the books that shaped your year and reflect on the ideas, themes, and insights that stayed with you. It’s less about how many you read and more about what mattered. This simple practice helps turn your reading into reflection — and your reflection into meaningful growth for the year ahead.

STEPHEN GLASSER
Hi, I’m Stephen — pastor, writer, coach, and big believer that everyday life can be full of meaning and adventure. I love helping people slow down, reflect, and live with intention. You can learn more about my story and what I do below.
3 core transformations this course will guide you through:
-
You’ll learn how to slow down long enough to actually see your year — the highs, the lows, the growth, the lessons, and the story God has been writing beneath the surface. By looking back with honesty and intention, you’ll discover perspective that brings peace instead of pressure, and clarity instead of confusion. This clarity becomes the foundation for a purposeful next season.
-
Through guided reflection exercises, you’ll identify what’s healthy, what’s drifting, and what needs attention in your life. You’ll name what truly matters, reconnect with who God has called you to be, and begin building rhythms that support emotional, spiritual, and relational health. This isn’t self-improvement — it’s soul alignment.
-
By envisioning your “You + One Year” future, clarifying your goals, and establishing sustainable rhythms and routes, you’ll walk out of this course with a practical, grace-filled plan for the year ahead. No more stumbling into the next season — you’ll move forward with intention, hope, and a clear sense of God’s direction for your life.

JourneyWay is my coaching and content brand — it’s the umbrella for all my courses, guides, and coaching experiences. So if you see “JourneyWay” on your receipt, that’s totally normal. It’s still me (Stephen!) and still the Year-End Reflection Course you signed up for.
-
Each teaching video is around 5 minutes, but the real work happens when you pause and reflect. Most people take 3–5 hours total, either in one retreat-style session or split across a few days. You can go at your own pace, and you’ll have access to everything so you can revisit it anytime.
-
All sessions were filmed in the beautiful Northwoods A-frame cabin in the Minnesota woods near Itasca Park. It’s a beautiful property and it includes two additional tiny cabins — I highly encourage you check it out!
-
Nope! Many people who take this course have never journaled before. You can write long paragraphs, simple bullet points, or even talk through your reflections in a voice note. The goal isn’t perfect writing — it’s creating space to pause, reflect, and meet with God.
