WHY THIS MATTERS

Most of us don’t need more information—we need invitation and action. These challenges are about turning inspiration into practice, helping you slow down, show up, and engage your everyday life with fresh eyes.

Small steps. Consistent rhythms. A fuller life—right where you are.

The challenges are designed to gently (and sometimes boldly) push you out of your comfort zone—relationally, emotionally, spiritually, and occasionally physically. Every challenge has a purpose: to help you take one small step toward life to the fullest.

FROM THE BOOK

As a boy, I was fascinated with adventure. I was so small and the world was so big, leaving much to be explored. I may have grown up in the middle of nowhere, but to young Stephen, it could lead to anywhere and everywhere. My friends and I would leap and bound through our neighborhood as if we had just discovered a new planet.

We would dart through the trees trying to avoid the villains who aimed to foil our expeditions, warding them off with our wooden guns as we weaved through our neighbors’ yards. We would hide treasure just so we could come back to find it a few minutes later. We would hunker down in the treehouse my grandpa built in our backyard as if it were an impenetrable fortress. We told stories of danger and heroism and we refused to eat our vegetables — like true adventurers. This was our life.

As we journeyed through life, something happened. The backyard shenanigans ceased. Sticks became sticks, and sidewalks, once littered with invisible villains, were just sidewalks. Growing up seemingly brought our days of adventure to a halt.

However, deep down, I believe that each one of us is as adventurous as when we were kids. At the heart of adventure is a longing for more. At its core, adventure is about seeking out and exploring the spectacular around us. The unfortunate reality is that we have a propensity to seek it out in all the wrong places.
